Throwback to a Week of Climate Action!ย

From 6โ€“11 May 2025, we joined our partners in Rodalquilar, Spain for Green Leaders ErasmusPlus training course. Over six days, 23 youth workers and volunteers from different countries took part in sessions and field activities that connected participants to local nature, community action and practical youth work methods. The programme focused on non-formal education activities to strengthen skills and knowledge on climate change and environmental protection. Participants brainstormed new ideas, discovered new methods and co-created resources that they can use to engage youth on the topic and foster environmental awareness. Some of the main highlights of this experience: ๐Ÿ‘‰ A guided tour of the Botanic Garden to explore local biodiversity.๐Ÿ‘‰ A clean-up of the abandoned miner houses.๐Ÿ‘‰ Forum Theatre sessions on the challenges of involving youth in climate education.๐Ÿ‘‰Debates on how we can be adopt more sustainable practices to protect our planet.๐Ÿ‘‰The creation of four brand-new tools to help youth workers engage in environmental topics.

Concluding a Week of Innovation, Teamwork, and Sustainability

Weโ€™ve officially wrapped up an amazing week at the Youth Ecopreneurs Camp, where young people from France, Sweden, Romania, Spain, Poland, and Italy came together to shape a greener future through entrepreneurship and teamwork. Throughout the week, participants took on the role of entrepreneurs, tackling real ecological challenges from their communities and creating seven impressive, practical business plans. They enhanced their creativity and problem-solving skills using the Design Thinking method, explored current trends in ecopreneurship, and launched powerful online campaigns to promote their solutions and highlight best practices. An important part of this journey was connecting sustainability with real-world opportunities, particularly in youth employment and eco-friendly business development. In diverse, multicultural teams, participants worked to address critical environmental issues while sharing their own unique experiences and perspectives. Beyond just learning, this week was about empowerment, forming genuine connections, and sparking a lasting commitment to sustainable action. The enthusiasm, innovation, and teamwork we witnessed made clear the incredible potential that exists when young people come together for a meaningful cause.

Enhancing Entrepreneurial Skills in Service of Ecology

Today marks the kickoff of the ‘Youth Ecopreneurs Camp’! We’re thrilled to welcome 38 passionate young minds from France, Sweden, Romania, Spain, Poland, and Italy. Over the week, these future ecopreneurs will dive deep into green entrepreneurship, tackling local ecological challenges and crafting sustainable solutions for their communities. In the first part of the youth exchange, we delved into the pressing environmental realities of the participating countries. The participants shared insightful presentations on: But that’s not all! We kickstarted the Design Thinking process, and participants formed multicultural groups to ideate and define solutions for some of today’s most critical sustainability challenges: 1๏ธโƒฃ Revitalize urban landscapes: Breathing new life into abandoned urban spaces.2๏ธโƒฃ Combat plastic pollution: Tackling the surge of plastic waste, especially plastic bottles.3๏ธโƒฃ Revive community spirit: Creating youth-friendly, sustainable spaces in small communities.4๏ธโƒฃ Address the knowledge gap: Educating young people on climate change and sustainability.5๏ธโƒฃ Combat community food waste: Reducing food waste to alleviate social and environmental issues.6๏ธโƒฃ Create sustainable markets: Introducing sustainable food retail ventures in cities.7๏ธโƒฃ Promote sustainable fashion: Challenging fast fashion with eco-friendly clothing alternatives. The energy, enthusiasm, and creativity already shown by these young ecopreneurs promise an impactful and inspiring week ahead.

A Week of Eco-Innovation Comes to a Close

Over the past week, 42 participants have taken on the challenge of eco-entrepreneurship, diving deep into the Design Thinking process. Through immersive sustainability simulations, national case studies, and hands-on prototyping, they transformed broad environmental issues into realistic, innovative business solutions. Midway through the exchange, the focus shifted to developing prototypes and refining business plans. Crafting solutions in intercultural teams came with its challengesโ€”balancing different perspectives, navigating communication barriers, and adjusting to new methodologiesโ€”but it also proved to be one of the most rewarding aspects of the experience. Participants explored the realities of sustainable entrepreneurship, questioned the feasibility of their ideas, and adapted to the complexities of green business models. Then, the final pitches arrived. Each team stepped up, presenting their solutions while their peers acted as investors, pushing them to defend their concepts and refine their impact. The discussions were intense, filled with critical insights and moments of realization. Some ideas showed such promise that we hope they take shape beyond this exchange. As the project officially came to a close, we took a moment to reflect on everything that had happened. We wrapped up with a final evaluation and recap, then headed to the shore to watch the sunrise
