Luxembourg Training on Migration and Asylum Policies

The past few days have been super interesting for us! We hosted about 12 youth workers from Luxembourg, Spain, Greece, and Italy for a super interactive and impactful training on questioning migrations with the help of pedagogical materials developed by partner organisations. 👉 We had a 3-day training that was run in a train-the-trainer format to prepare the trainees (youth workers and soon-to-be trainers) for using the various kits (pedagogical materials). 👉 The goal was to have them run various workshops in their respective countries, helping more young people adapt to the materials to gain updated knowledge, understanding, and practical steps involved in migration and asylum policies. A big thanks to our facilitators and Cultures of Assembly for the training space. The project doesn’t end here! There is more to come, so make sure you follow along.

    Questioning Migrations Workshop in Luxembourg

Greetings from Luxembourg! On December 2, we hosted a very diverse group of migrants from Austria, Germany, Ghana, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, Luxembourg, and Romania in Luxembourg for the Questioning Migrations workshop, co-founded by the #Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. We touched on asylum policies, case studies, actors, and how the EU‘s migration policies can better serve migrants. The workshop was facilitated using pedagogical materials developed with project partners, including Union des Associations e-graine, Hellenic Youth Participation, Babele ODV and SOS Racismo. We also thank Cultures of Assembly (Luxembourg) for allowing us to use their space for this insightful workshop.

Wrapping Up Our Final Project of 2023 in Luxembourg

Our last project of 2023 & last and days in Luxembourg are done! In the last days of the project we covered so much! They were filled with energizers filled with positive energy, a free day to unwind the from activities in the city of Luxembourg, our participatins explored everything they could find from visiting the European Parliament to the festive vibes of Christmas markets across town, During the last days of the project, and with the expert guidance of our facilitator, all took part in learning how to create online campaigns, using the GAMMMA+ method while focusing on advocacy for the European Youth Goals. All groups learned how to work in new teams, how to create various types of campaigns, how to plan, schedule, delegate and create, dipping their feet in the whole process from brainstorming till presentations in front of potential investors and stakeholders! They did a great job and we hope have learned enough along the way to bring the importance of youth advocacy into their communities, work and future engagements! Our last activity covered information about and around the Youth Pass, all making a list of recommendations for various types of stakeholders to promote youth engagement

Enhancing Civic Engagement Through Youth Advocacy

In the misty hills of Weicherdange, Luxembourg, 40 young changemakers from Luxembourg, Poland, Bulgaria, Spain, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, and Romania have come together for a week-long deep dive into youth advocacy, participation, and digital engagement. Youth advocacy is a driving force in Europe, amplifying young voices in climate action, social justice, policy-making, and beyond. Through “Time to Advocate,” we aim to equip young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to influence decision-making at both national and EU levels. Throughout the week, participants are developing their digital skills, engaging with experts, and exploring the link between volunteering, activism, and democratic participation. What have we been working on?

    Design Thinking with MindYourBusiness+

Throughout the MindYourBusiness+ Youth Exchange, we witnessed the growth and development of our young entrepreneurs and 16 first-time participants in their first ever Erasmus+ project. They embraced the challenges, discovered their potential, and gained invaluable skills and knowledge about entrepreneurship and ‘design thinking’ that will hopefully empower them on their entrepreneurial paths. We are proud of each and every participant that presented and shared their skills and knowledge and produced amazing results within the project! Young participants from 8 countries used the ‘design thinking’ steps and techniques to create creative solutions for the problems they had defined in the first days of the programme. At the end of the project, all groups took part in pitching their entrepreneurial ideas to the rest of the participants, who posed as investors, had a chance to ask questions and figure out witch idea they would invest into. On the last day the participants also created digital campaigns to reflect on what they had learned throughout the project, to inform their audiences on tools from ‘design thinking’, we are so happy to have seen their creative ideas come to life and all of them gain invaluable experiences!
