First Phase of Unplugged Youth Workers Training

Our team just returned from the Unplugged Training in Izmir, Turkey: an #ErasmusPlus project focused on understanding and addressing compulsive digital habits such as internet and gaming addiction, gambling, and social media overuse, while promoting healthier digital practices among young people. In five enriching days of non-stop activities, our participants: πŸ‘‰ Explored storytelling, coaching, and art-therapy as creative tools for digital well-being.πŸ‘‰ Reflected on their own digital habits through introspective workshops β€” including sessions on FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), FOJI (Fear of Joining In), and JOMO (Joy of Missing Out) β€” to enhance self-understanding.πŸ‘‰ Learned new facilitation techniques and exchanged non-formal education methods with youth workers from across Europe. This experience helped our participants acquire new tools they can use in their daily work, and also gave them the chance to reflect on their own practices for a better understanding of the youth they support. They are now ready for the next phase of the programme: group and individual mentoring sessions, before applying everything they’ve learned to design and lead youth workshops in their own communities.

Dramatic Pathways Concludes with a Final Play

We are wrapping up Dramatic Pathways to Inclusion with hearts full of memories! In the words of Alexa, one of our participants: “It was an incredible project for me and I realized once again how much these type of projects help me personally. Hearing your stories, sharing meals, dancing and singing, late night conversations and the bonds we created made me a better person.” Our youth exchange ended with a bang, as it was finally time to show the audience what our participants had been working on: a final spectacular showcase! Our participants, having explored hate speech realities across various countries, refined their improvisation and artistic expression skills. They creatively transformed social issues that we face daily into an expressive theatre play, weaving all their learnings into a compelling final act, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Big thanks to our partners: Zorro et Compagnies, MIHI Egypt, Geyc, EQuality, Panevezio atviras jaunimo centras ,Asociacion mundus, Al-emad alkabeer for training and development co.

Breaking Barriers with Theatre: Dramatic Pathways to Inclusion

Theatre has always been a key tool for us, but this time, it’s the star of the show! In partnership with Zorro et Compagnies, we’re uniting young talents from 8 different countries for Damatic Pathways to Inclusion Youth Exchange: France, Morocco, Egypt, Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Poland and Jordan. In this project, we aim to harness the power of theater to promote social inclusion and break down barriers for marginalized youth. The first days were all about bonding, laying the groundwork for our week-long project, slowly easing our way into theatrical workshops then our participants started working on their theatre skills, diving deep into improvisation, and exploring the art of voice expression. Now, all eyes are on the grand finale – the final play! Our participants are pooling together their ideas and drawing inspiration from vital themes like inclusion, empowering people with disabilities, and self-acceptance.
