How can we tell hate speech from silencing, and why does it matter? 🤔
Our #NoHateEmbassy Italian fellowship team brought this question to the University of Pavia for their workshop “No Hate Embassy – Ways to Fight Hate Speech and Silencing.”
Students, youth workers, and activists were brought together for a lively session that mixed theory with dynamic activities: role-playing, breaking down real examples, and open discussions that addressed the topic to help participants recognize, reflect, and respond effectively.
Participants also worked together in creative group sessions to put theory into practice and develop powerful and original strategies to identify and confront hate speech and silencing.
The event was led in an atmosphere of curiosity, plenty of questioning, and a genuine willingness to learn from one another ✨.
