Spring isn’t the only thing buzzing in Weicherdange. This week, the village’s population has doubled once again, as 42 young changemakers from 8 European countries gather for the ElectrickYE Youth Exchange.
Why this excitement? Because Europe’s challenges and future opportunities deeply impact young people. Their voices, choices, and active participation are crucial for shaping policies that affect their own futures and those of generations to come.
At Elec-trick Youth Exchange, our participants aim to reignite youth interest in civic and democratic processes, especially as we approach the 2024 European elections. Here’s what they’ll be focusing on during the week:
- Highlighting the role young people play in influencing national and European policy decisions.
- Understanding how European institutions operate and how they connect with national systems.
- Building critical-thinking skills to evaluate and navigate online information effectively.
- Creating innovative digital campaigns to inspire active youth participation in the upcoming European elections.
