As Bridging, Breaking Barriers progressed in Marrakech, participants moved deeper into the themes of gender, inclusion, human rights and digital advocacy.
The programme combined reflection with practical learning. Participants explored digital human rights through a World Café activity focused on safety, privacy, power and vulnerability, before bringing their ideas together into a shared declaration. A major highlight was the participant-led workshops, where youth workers shared their own knowledge and experience on topics including WenDo self-defence, human development and attachment, harmful digital content, and the cycle of violence and femicide risk assessment.
During the final days, the focus shifted towards advocacy and action. Participants explored how youth workers can respond to hate speech and online bullying, worked with storytelling and the GAMMMA+ model for digital campaigns, and developed guidelines to better support vulnerable young people facing discrimination.
The training concluded with a workshop on designing mobilisation campaigns for real-world impact, bringing together many of the ideas explored throughout the week.
We had an amazing week of exchanging perspectives, challenging gender-related stereotypes and strengthening our youth workers with tools they can carry use in their communities!
