Perspectives on Populism (PerPop) youth Exchange is here and we’re popping with excitement for an insightful week together in sunny Marrakech!
Populism has been making waves worldwide, leaving a strong impact. Divisive tactics, threats to democratic values, and a lack of respect for human rights are just some of the resulting challenges. That’s why we’ve brought together 46 young people from 8 Euro-Mediterranean countries: to tackle this issue, promote active citizenship, and stand for tolerance and inclusion.
The first days have been energetic: we got to know each other, engaged in team-building activities, and laid the groundwork for the week. Participants also used artistic expression to explore the concept of populism, its core components, and strategies.
Throughout the week, participants made national reality presentations, uncovering how populism takes shape in their countries, sparking lively discussions and insightful reflections.
Fake news took center stage as participants sharpened their critical thinking, breaking down its core components and revealing tactics that fuel misinformation.
